Fix The Story Writing
A big part of the Borderlands games is the main story, which has a lot of interesting people and great dialogue. The story in Borderlands 3 was one of the things that didn’t work very well. Fans didn’t like how things turned out, who the bad guys were, or how information was given to the players.
The “show, don’t tell” rule would be a great way to solve this problem. Let the players figure things out on their own, make them work for knowledge, and let them put things together. With this kind of interaction, any story is so much more fun to read. Add more history for people who want to learn it, and make the story more interesting in general.
Make The Map More Interactive
Borderlands has some great maps, and it’s always fun to check out new parts of the game. It would make sense to give people more reasons to go exploring. Map discovery can be a big part of the game if done right. This would also be something to look forward to in a new episode of the series.
To make exploring more fun, you could give the figures more ways to move. For example, you can swim through underground levels, float through space levels, glide, climb, and do a lot more. This is definitely something that would make a lot of people happy.
Inventory Management
In Borderlands 3, there were more than a billion guns, and there was no way to keep track of them. There has to be some way to sort through them since there are so many. If not, it can be very hard to handle. And guns aren’t the only thing in the collection. There are also grenades, shields, quest items, and a lot more.
A simple way to put things into groups can make all the difference. Make it so that players can sort guns and other things into different groups. In any case, the stock needs to be improved if there is a next part.
Make The Vault Hunters Important
One thing that was upsetting about Borderlands 3 was that the playable characters were not in it. They never appear in cutscenes and are never called by name. Sometimes, other figures take credit for what they do. This is sad, since the Vault Hunters are meant to be very important to the games.
One way to fix these mistakes would be to give the Vault Hunters a bigger part in the story. Show them in cutscenes and give them more lines to say. There is a lot of promise, especially since the characters are so interesting. This could also help fix some problems in the story.
Bring Back Explosive Damage
In the first Borderlands game, there were explosive guns that did more damage to enemies because the bullets blew up when they hit them. This is a feature that is both unique and helpful. It would be like a blast from the past to see the explosion damage come back in a new episode.
It would also be fun to see this as a part of character builds, similar to how characters can be made to have high damage when they attack with their hands. It might be interesting to see different types of people, like a person who knows a lot about explosives. There are a lot of things that could be done here, but bringing it back would be enough.
More Customization
Borderlands 3 did a great job with this. With skins, guns, and color palettes, there were many ways to make the game your own. It would be great if this kept going in the next game in the series, maybe with more choices. It might be good to be able to change things like the parts and colors on the guns.
Many fans would also like to see figures that can be changed in every way. If you choose this fun cosmetic, it could add a new element to the game, especially if you keep not being in any cutscenes. With the way this series looks, a menu for making characters would be great.
More Emotes
Borderlands 3‘s emotes were a lot of fun, but the game could have used more of them. It would be great if more emotes were added to Borderlands 4. You can’t use the emotes very often outside of quests that require them.
It would be great if there were more emotes and more ways to use them in Tunnel Rush. This could be in places where you need a certain move to get in, or it could be more for co-op play. Any way you look at it, the next game should have more.
